This session will provide an overview of current accommodation issues arising in the workplace and resulting employer obligations.  HR professionals are seeing more and more accommodation requests given COVID-19 and many employees requiring more work flexibility.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • An understanding of the medical accommodation issues arising in the context of COVID-19 and how to address them.
  • An understanding of the religious accommodation issues arising in the context of COVID-19 vaccination policies and how to appropriately respond to them.
  • An understanding of the family accommodation issues arising in the context of COVID-19 and return to work issues.

She started her career at a large Bay Street law firm focusing on employer-side labour and employment litigation for several years. Sasha is now in-house legal counsel at Bruce Power L.P., responsible for the entire labour and employment law portfolio.
